What Else: $5 per person, children under 10 free. Enjoy the beauty of spring and roam the Garden’s 52 acres. Join Ogeechee Audubon Society for bird walks at 8am, 9am, 10am, and 1pm, and discuss with experts the many bird species found at the CGBG; learn how to create an ideal backyard bird habitat and enjoy several bird exhibits for the whole family; Stan Gray’s extensive Iris displays are the highlight of spring at the Gardens and many iris will still be blooming. Hear from Stan about the important new Species Preservation Project; learn how to grow your own tea from Debbie Odom of Gene’s Nursery; meet with wildlife experts from the Orianne Society and T.E.R.P.S, and get up close and personal with a Gopher Tortoise, Diamondback Terrapin, Indigo Snake, and more; Learn all about growing Orchids from the Deep South Orchid Society; learn how to properly prune and care for trees; enjoy a local art exhibition and art sale featuring art of the CGBG, hosted by Arts On the Coast, and plein-air artists and demo; at 11am hear renowned horticulturist and TV personality Amanda McNulty, from Clemson Extension and host of the TV show Making it Grow, followed by a Friends of the Coastal Gardens plant sale featuring pollinator attracting plants; there will be in garden tours and talks by Master Gardeners and other Horticulturists. Pack a picnic lunch, or purchase a gourmet hotdog provided by Friends, and finish up with a Shave Ice from Kona Ice.
