ABOUT US

Friends of the Coastal Gardens is a non-profit organization formed in 1995 for the sole mission of providing financial and volunteer support to the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens at the Historic Bamboo Farms, 2 Canebrake Road, Savannah, GA 31419.  Since our inception, Friends has raised and contributed over $13 million in funding for the operation and improvements of the Garden.  In addition to financial support, members of Friends have provided thousands of volunteer hours over the past 25 years to the growth and operation of the Gardens.

The Friends of the Coastal Gardens provide financial and human resources to support the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens at the Historic Bamboo Farm.

What Friends Do

Donations, either in large (or small) gifts from individuals or through proceeds from Friends’ fundraising events, have facilitated many new garden expansion projects.   Friends volunteers also help manage specific garden areas, assist in greenhouse or grounds maintenance projects, conduct group educational tours, assist with the Roots and Shoots program for schoolkids, and a wide array of special fundraising events and activities.
